In brief
- HYPE token leads top 15 cryptocurrencies with 12.4% weekly gains and 67.2% monthly appreciation, trading at $41.31.

- Bitcoin posts record low volatility while ETH, SOL, and DOGE show modest weekly gains amid stable market conditions.
The native token of the Hyperliquid platform, HYPE, has surged five-fold since mid-May (#HYPENYC: $41.31) while Bitcoin volatility remains in record territory lows.
According to CoinGecko data cited in the report, HYPE maintained its momentum despite trading slightly down 0.3% on the day, establishing impressive weekly gains of 12.4% and monthly appreciation of 67.2%, pushing the token toward its monthly high around $42.
Decentralized Exchange Gains Traction
Data firm Grayscale notes that interest in Hyperliquid has resulted in “consistently high organic usage,” competing effectively with established centralized derivative exchanges like Binance and Bybit.
The platform’s appeal appears driven by its perpetual futures offerings, which have generated broader demand for Bitcoin and other cryptos. Perpetual futures are derivatives contracts that never expire, allowing traders to speculate on price movements indefinitely without delivery.
In Crypto, Perpetual Futures Explained:
This derivative instrument was first conceptualized in 1992 by Robert Shiller. In the crypto world, these contracts account for approximately 93% of all derivative trading volume, according to available estimates.
Expert Commentary on Crypto Market Trends
“HYPE is capturing investor attention amid record low volatility for Bitcoin and cautious optimism across leading altcoins,” said Vincent Liu, CIO at investment firm Kronos Research.
While established altcoins showed modest recovery last week—ETH up 7%, SOL up 7.3%, DOGE up 4.4%—the market remains in early trading ranges, with most cryptos significantly below pre-pandemic peaks.
“Adoption highlights simple yet effective token design,” noted Jeth Ang, COO at Sovrun. “This clarity, combined with growing market confidence, strengthens crypto’s position as a revenue-generating asset class.”
Market Outlook and Key Factors
Funding Chief Investment Officer Liu maintains the market’s bullish streak faces headwinds from macroeconomic factors:
“Bitcoin’s new highs have been fueled by institutional participation, reinvigorating the entire crypto space,” said Ang. This momentum creates a positive feedback loop, driving interest in promising altcoins.”
Market Position Highlights:
- Bitcoin volatility posts record lows
- Ethereum shows steady progress
- Solana continues incremental gains
- Dogecoin recovers late-May lows
“Though short-term upside remains supported by liquidity, retail energy, and institutional interest,” Liu cautions regulators and macroeconomic factors “still create uncertainty.”
Platform Innovation in Crypto
Noting the response to SEC’s call for security standards, Hyperliquid emphasized its “continuous, on-chain markets” demonstrate resilience and customer protection, exceeding regulatory oversight expectations.
