Moca Foundation Launches Moca Chain: New Layer-1 Blockchain for Privacy-Preserving Identities
Blockchain development firm Moca Foundation announced the launch of Moca Chain, a new layer-1 blockchain dedicated to privacy-preserving identity and data authentication.
Moca Chain, purpose-built for identity and user data management applications, aims to enable individuals, devices, and AI agents to control and verify credentials without depending on centralized service providers.
Moca Foundation stated its network will verify on-chain and off-chain user data for applications on any blockchain, using the MOCA token to cover transaction fees, validator staking, storage, oracle services, and data verification fees. The testnet is expected in Q3 2025 with mainnet deployment by Q4 2025.
Technological Architecture
Moca Chain leverages a decentralized data storage system, a cross-chain identity oracle, and employs zero-knowledge transport layer security (ZK-TLS) with on-chain verification. The platform is compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), enhancing interoperability with Ethereum-based ecosystems.
“Moca Chain seeks to solve this problem by giving users decentralized true ownership of their data, ensuring the sovereignty of users’ digital identity without a single point of failure.”
Industry Context
According to Animoca Brands’ Yat Siu, billions of users currently rely on single sign-on (SSO) for service access, creating centralized points of failure that compromise security.
Adoption and Partnerships
Moca Network’s AIR Kit identity management SDK is already integrated with Animoca Brands’ portfolio companies, reaching over 700 million addressable users. Current implementations include OK Cashbag (28M+ verified users) and One Football (200M monthly active users).
