ETH Holdings Update: SharpLink Gaming Reclaims Largest Public ETH Holder Position
Sports betting platform SharpLink Gaming significantly increased its Ethereum (ETH) holdings during the week ending Sunday, reclaiming the title of the largest publicly traded ETH holder after a brief period at the second spot.
Focusing on a major purchase, SharpLink reported acquiring 79,949 ETH on Tuesday. This acquisition averaged $3,238 per ETH, representing a total investment value of approximately $258.9 million.
The new purchases followed a previous $49 million batch announced just a few days earlier. Prior to this latest tranche, SharpLink’s total ETH holdings stood at 280,706 as of last week.
Ethereum Accumulation Intensifies
The substantial new investment pushed SharpLink’s entire portfolio up to 360,807 ETH, valued at roughly $1.3 billion based on current market prices according to CoinGecko data.
The momentum continued for SharpLink, as news of this latest accumulation appeared too late to update CoinGecko’s leaderboard immediately, failing to reflect the new leader just one day after the purchase was announced.
SharpLink’s triumph is short-lived, however, as following a $250 million private placement earlier in the month, BitMine Immersion Technologies subsequently disclosed holding 300,657 ETH. This amount briefly made BitMine the leading publicly listed ETH holder.
