BTC Surges Above $122,000 as MicroStrategy Secures Major Acquisition
The world’s largest publicly traded holder of Bitcoin made a significant purchase, acquiring 6,220 BTC for approximately $739.8 million during the week ending Sunday, July 20.
MicroStrategy executed these buys at an average price of $118,940 per coin. The cryptocurrency reached an intraweek low of $116,000 following the initial surge above $122,000, consolidating around the $118,000 level at the time of the filing.
The acquisition increased MicroStrategy’s total Bitcoin holdings to 607,770 BTC, purchased at an aggregate cost of roughly $43.6 billion and an average price of $71,756 per coin.
MicroStrategy Exec Sells Additional MSTR Shares
Senior Executive Vice President Wei-Ming Shao filed another transaction with the SEC on Monday, detailing the sale of an additional 10,900 MSTR shares, valued at approximately $4.9 million.
This sale continues a trend of significant MSTR share disposals by the executive, following a previous sale of $25.7 million worth of shares the prior week.
