Tesla Opens Retro-Style ‘CyberDiner’ Durga in LA Amid Hype and Local Concerns
Tesla has opened a retro-themed dining establishment near Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, featuring robot-assisted service, electric vehicle-only parking, and Musk-branded installations, drawing crowds but raising neighborhood objections.
The “CyberDiner Durga,” located near the iconic studio complex, incorporates Tesla’s in-development humanoid robot “Optimus” to distribute snacks, alongside traditional human staff managing kitchen operations according to manager Bill Chait.
The venue offers EV-specific parking for eighty automobiles alongside standard seating for two hundred fifty patrons. Its two massive LED displays, comparable in size to drive-in theater screens, air curated movie content aligned with the average Tesla battery charging cycle.
The menu presents American comfort food staples rebranded for Tesla clientele. Operations remain cashless despite the CEO’s noted affinity for Dogecoin. Early customer feedback is mixed on pricing but generally positive about the experience.
However, the unprecedented scale and brightness of the restaurant have prompted neighborhood opposition regarding traffic congestion, noise impact, and visual dominance over adjacent residential zones. Tesla’s plans to replicate this model globally at major Supercharger hubs suggest ongoing local resistance.
