The TON Foundation has issued a clarification statement regarding its involvement with the UAE Golden Visa program, dispelling confusion following initial announcements and subsequent official UAE rebuttals.
In a Monday blog post, the Foundation stated it is only in the “early stages of development” with a licensed UAE partner regarding the program’s conceptual exploration. It emphasized that the UAE government entities retain complete authority, with the program subject to applicable UAE laws and regulations.
“To clarify, no official Golden Visa program has been launched in partnership with the government of the United Arab Emirates, nor has any governmental endorsement been granted to TON,” the Foundation said.
The clarification followed an announcement from TON representatives earlier in the week touting a 10-year UAE Golden Visa. The UAE government immediately disputed TON’s claims, with three agencies denying any issuance of such visas to digital asset holders, though no official joint program was previously acknowledged.
