Magic Eden Wallet Faces Scrutiny from Trump Family
WASHINGTON — The Trump-branded crypto wallet from Magic Eden has drawn sharp criticism from the President’s sons.
The Magic Eden subsidiary Slingshot and the TRUMP memecoin team unveiled “Trump Wallet,” billed as “the first and only crypto wallet for true Trump fans.” This announcement came after its existence was initially revealed through a leak spotted online.
However, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have denied any affiliation with the wallet, with Eric Trump specifically warning Magic Eden:
“@MagicEden I would be extremely careful using our name in a project that has not been approved and is unknown to anyone in our organization.”
The Trump Organization’s digital arm, CIC Digital, is associated with the token, but the official website explicitly states: “The Trump family and The Trump Organization aren’t distributing the coin.”
This confusion extends beyond the wallet. Last month, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations launched an inquiry into potential conflicts of interest concerning the TRUMP token, which is owned by Fight Fight Fight LLC—a company co-founded by Bill Zanker, who previously worked closely with President Trump.
Meanwhile, Donald Jr. confirmed that the World Liberty Financial (WLF) organization, which he leads, is planning its own “official Trump wallet,” potentially creating market confusion.
Magic Eden’s ME token price briefly spiked following the wallet’s leak—jumping from $0.86 to approximately $1.04—but the project has faced significant pushback from the Trump family.
The wallet’s dedicated X account (@TrumpWalletApp) was subsequently suspended for violating platform rules, though specific infractions remain unclear.
Both Magic Eden CEO Jack Lu and a company spokesperson have declined additional comment.
